Mock Cheque Presentation

A ringgit could make a different! On 5th October, the TBS Student Council held a Prom Charity Drive 2007 during the TBS Annual Prom Night "Le Grand Banquet". The main objective of this charity drive was to encourage students to help those who are in need. Thus, we decided to sell Raffle tickets on the prom night. Guests were not only able to lend a helping hand but also given a chance to walk away with Sony PSP, Digital Camera, Swatch and IPod from purchasing the raffle tickets. Overall, RM2000 was raised on that night and the money would be donated to National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).

In line with that, an official mock cheque presentation ceremony was held on 25th October with the presence of Ms Elizabeth, representative from NCSM. Yellow ribbons were distributed to students to create awareness on the cancer issue too. On the same day, Ms Aldyes, the winnder of Star On Stage 2007, performed and mesmerized the audience with her powerful vocal.

Monday Movie Madness -- Click

Have you ever wondered that you have a universal control, that can control your universe? Have you ever dreamed of, that you can control every chapter in your life? Find out more about these in CLICK, our movie of the month. Meet us in TBS Mini Auditorium, 3 of December, at 5.00pm, and we shall sit together and discover what this controller is all about.
Here is the synopsis of the movie:

A workaholic architect, who has been overlooking his family in favor of his career, comes across a universal remote that allows him to perform TiVo-like functions on his life, such as pausing events or fast-forwarding over them. When the remote begins creating its own memory and choosing what to fast-forward over, the man sees how much of his personal life has passed him by and realizes the importance of spending more time with his family.

So meet you guys on next Monday !!!

TBS ANNUAL PROM NIGHT 2007

The TBS Annual Prom Night 2007, themed “Le Grand Banquet: Awaken the Masquerade of Enchantment” was held at Sime Darby Convention Centre, with about 300 guests attending the event. The reason behind this special theme is because we are always on the lookout for something new, and we felt that a Masquerade Ball would add a new zest of life to this year’s prom.

Every aspect of the night was planned meticulously with careful detail, from the design of the tickets to the beautiful decoration and set-up that enchanted the ballroom. There were even special performances by the Royal London Circus and of course, our Star on Stage 2007 winners. 4 models added glitter to the night by parading around, dolled up in traditional masquerade costumes and masks. There were also magicians who performed illusions for the guests waiting at the foyer prior to the event.

The event started off with an opening dance by the Board of Directors from the TBS Student Council. The dance symbolized the arrival of the Guardians of the Masque (the emcees in normal words) who enchanted the night and brought everyone back through time to a masquerade experience. There was the usual dinner, games and lucky draw. However, what made this year’s prom different was that there was a raffle draw which boasted a Sony PSP, a Sony digital camera, 2 iPod Shuffles, 2 Swatch watches, a Swatch travel bag and 3 memory cards up for grabs. All proceeds were donated to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, specifically to the children’s department. Besides that, this year’s Prom King and Queen pageant saw 13 Prom Princes and Princesses nominated from each table vying for the prominent titles. The night ended with the crowning of Nicklaus Liew and Crystal Tiong as the TBS Annual Prom King and Queen 2007!

All in all, the night was a success and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the process, including our sponsors and you, our guests. Each of you added a magical touch to the night which will certainly remain “Le Grand Banquet” in our memories.
